Vintage TV Set Collector Steve McVoy
Steve McVoy was in the cable television business for 35 years before starting the Early Television Museum.
We recently discussed his interest in vintage TV sets and related ephemera.
"As a teenager I worked in a television repair shop," says Steve, "sometimes servicing sets from the late 40s, and they had always fascinated me. At the time, I wasn’t aware that television preceded World War Two, but the first set I bought was a prewar RCA TRK-12. I consciously began collecting, but I didn’t have an idea of what the scope of my collecting would be. That evolved over time.
